Chocolate Temptation Cream Liqueur

Cask & Cream Chocolate Temptation Cream Liqueur

Author: Kimberly Bailey (also her first review on PureLiqueur!)

From the first sip, it’s apparent that Cask & Cream Chocolate Temptation Cream Liqueur boasts flavors that truly make it a special treat. The rich chocolate flavor makes the drink a dessert in itself, with no need for any additional flavors to be mixed in. I enjoyed this delicious liqueur with just a few ice cubes in the glass. In fact, I find that this liqueur could add a special something after any meal at home.

This bottle of chocolate liqueur would make a fantastic gift to any chocolate lover. Rather than gifting a friend a large box of chocolates, a beautiful bottle of Chocolate Temptation liqueur could be an ideal purchase. I know that with the warm chocolate flavor, I would definitely enjoy receiving a bottle of this liqueur for a gift. The 750 mL bottle is priced very reasonably and can be found at practically any retailer that sells liqueur.

Read along as we examine this liqueur a bit closer:

Manufactured and distributed by E & J Gallo Winery, Cask & Cream is one of their most successful brands due to their delicious liqueur flavors. Chocolate Temptations contains an alcohol content of 16%. In spite of the 16% alcohol, the bottle contains a strong scent of rich dark chocolate.

Chocolate Temptation Cream Liqueur possesses a very light brown color, reminiscent of chocolate milk. The light coloring is due to caramel that is used to both enhance flavor and lighten the liqueur. While the liqueur tastes perfect served on the rocks, a splash of milk or cream helps this drink become a wonderful treat without being too strong. I could taste and smell a light hint of alcohol. This little kick helps make this drink a warm treat that feels smooth going down. Chocolate liqueurs can vary quite a bit in strength and flavors, but I found that this bottle combines both a sweet cream taste with the melt-in-your-mouth flavor of chocolate. Hints of caramel help make this cream liqueur a fantastic drink that I would enjoy for almost any occasion.

There are numerous chocolate liqueur recipes that would turn a bottle of Cask & Cream Chocolate Temptations into a delectable dessert or blended drink. I find that chocolate flavored liqueur can taste great when used in molten lava cake, cupcakes, pudding, and other dessert recipes. The back of the bottle also states that this chocolate liqueur makes a fantastic addition to a cup of coffee.

While the flavor and aroma of chocolate in Cask & Cream Chocolate Temptation is definitely the star in this bottle of liqueur, it’s not as overpowering as other chocolate liqueur brands on the market. This means that a few glasses of this liqueur after a meal won’t feel too rich or sweet. This can be a godsend for those watching their weight and searching for a liqueur that tastes great and isn’t breaking too many of their diet rules.

With a large number of chocolate and cream liqueur recipes, you can use this tempting liqueur as a base to a number of great drinks and desserts. A combination of caramel, chocolate, and cream help make Cask & Cream Chocolate Temptations a liqueur that is both indulgent and a perfect drink to wind down after a long day. All in all, I found that there is absolutely nothing to complain about when it comes to the overall experience with this liqueur. With the affordable price and delicious light taste, I know that this will be a drink that I will enjoy time and time again.

  1. where in portland can you find choc temp? I was getting it on burnside liq.store but they are not able to get it now

  2. Absolutely no idea. I don’t live around there. Hopefully another reader will see your post, or else you’ll be able to find something via Google.

  3. I picked up a bottle of this on a whim, originally I was going for a Marshmallow Vodka, Godiva Chocolate Liqueur, & cream type of martini; i think they call it “Dark & Fluffy”. The Chocolate liqueur is 30 bucks and this was like $9.99 at our local Bevmo, so since I already had a bottle of Smirnoff triple distilled vodka, I thought why not something like a “White Russian” instead, but with a chocolate twist. This E & J Cask & Cream Chocolate Liqueur is a oner. Something like Bailey’s but with a more chocolate presence.

2 oz vodka & 2 oz E & J in a tumbler on the rocks works just fine.

For grins you might add a spoon full of Hershey’s chocolate syrup or a dash of milk or half & half or both.

    Thanks for the fine review.

  4. I heard that the chocolate Cask & Cream is disc…is this true ? I dont understand the reason ~ it is delicious ! I live in Abq, NM. Where can I purchase some ? thank you christine

  5. see my comment above.

  6. Hi Christine! I haven’t heard that it is discontinued, but to find out for sure I would contact E&J here: http://www.ejbrandy.com/Contact/Contact-Us.asp at the same time, you can also ask them who would carry it in your area – or at least who distributes it, then the distributor can point you to a store that carries it.

A second option would be to call your local liquor stores and ask them if they can special order it. Many smaller stores can, and will to gain a customer.

  7. hard to find in the Quad Cities no one has it. asked several liquor business some said never heard of it or said have been discontinued. wish would come back

  8. I just learned that cask and Cream Chocolate Temptations was discontinued a year ago as well as the Caramel Temptations. Not interested in the Caramel but love the Chocolate myself and love to give as gifts. Any chance you’ll make it again?

  9. I haven’t experimented with chocolate cream liqueurs much. Perhaps I’ll research some recipes and try one this weekend. I’ll post if I do.

  10. I live in The Bronx, New York and have been searching to no avail for Cask & Cream’s Chocolate Temptation. EVERY liquor store I have went to never has it anymore. What happened to this liquer? I LOVED it. Has it been discontinued?

  11. I haven’t seen it in a long while either. I fear it may have been discontinued. You might try contacting the manufacturer and asking them.

  12. I am a general manager of a liqour store outside Austin, TX. I was looking this product up for a customer and ran across this article. I checked with my Gallo rep (manufacturer) and they confirmed it was discontinued. If you live around here I still have some 1.75L Bottles of the original!! -Moon Dance Wine & Spirits

  13. I would like to know the calories in this liqueur. I am diabetic and love Cast & Cream choc temtation
and so far i haven’t noticed any hike in my blood sugar after a glass or two

  14. As far as I know, this liqueur has been discontinued. I don’t believe it is sold any more.

All liqueurs are high in sugar. Both alcohol and sugar are strong concerns for a diabetic. Obviously my comments should not be constituted as medical advice.
